The 12 Days Kenya safari and beach offers you a unique opportunity to explore Kenya’s abundant wildlife and spice your holiday with beach experiences. Get a chance to visit the Maasai Mara National Reserve to explore the Big 5 (leopards, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, & lions) plus the wildebeests. Your magical Kenya safari also takes you to Samburu National Reserve, Lake Nakuru, and Diani Beach. The overall 12 Days Kenya safari & Beach holiday will begin and end in Nairobi.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up on arrival & drive to hotel
After a safe landing at the airport in Nairobi, expect to have a warm welcome to Kenya. From the airport, you will be transferred to your respective hotels for relaxation, and you will also get a briefing on your 12 days Kenya safari & beach.
Day 2: Samburu Tour from Nairobi City
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and depart for Samburu National Park/Reserve in about a 6-7-hour drive in your 4×4 car. En route to Samburu Reserve in Northern Kenya, there will be a lunch break. Samburu is one of Kenya’s compact parks and lies in the semi-arid places, covering an area of 165 sq, km. Regardless of its compact size, it contains exceptional species, including the special 5 game (Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffes, Beisa Oryx, & Gerenuk). After you have reached, expect to have leisure time in your pre-booked accommodation.
Day 3: Game drive –full day session in Samburu
With an expert present and in your 4WD vehicle, expect to embark on the extensive game drive tour in Samburu. During the guided game drive, your day will come with amazing sightings of the Grevy’s zebras, giraffes, Oryx, and gerenuks, etc. Start retreating from the savanna game drive to settle for dinner and overnight in the lodge around Samburu.
Day 4: Depart for Lake Naivasha
After a hearty breakfast, check out, and you will be visiting Lake Naivasha, about 6 hours’ drive. Lake Naivasha holds up to 400 species of birds and is popular for unique experiences like boat tours for you to watch hippos and aquatic birds. Your day can also include the Crescent Island Game Sanctuary walking experience.
Day 5: The Mara Reserve Safari from Lake Naivasha
Wake up early and have breakfast, then proceed to the Maasai Mara Reserve in the Southwestern end of Kenya. Arrive early and check in your safari camp or lodge. The vast 1510 sq. km Masai Mara boasts of wildlife such as leopards, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, lions, and antelopes, etc.
Day 6: Full day in the savannahs of Masai Mara
A full-day wildlife adventure awaits you today. Explore the Maasai Mara in the morning and wrap it up in the afternoon, with lunch enjoyed in the middle of the bush. The anticipated wildlife to see on a game drive range from hyenas, topis, zebras, impalas, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests, and birds.
Day 7: Lake Nakuru Safari from Nairobi
Leave the Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru, home to black rhinos, buffalo, elands, waterbucks, and abundant bird species like the pink flamingos. At Lake Nakuru NP, you will enjoy the afternoon game viewing experience.
Day 8: Time to Return to Nairobi
Depart from Lake Nakuru after the game drive in the morning. Arrive early and embark on the Nairobi city tour, which introduces you to the Giraffe Centre. After the city tour, you will check into the hotel and spend the entire evening.
Day 9: Nairobi to Tsavo West NP, Enjoy Kenya game drive
Have an early morning breakfast, and today, you will be in Tsavo West. This is one of the biggest parks in Kenya and holds countless wildlife, including predators like hyenas & lions. You will explore the park’s wonders on the evening game drive, expecting to find rhinos, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, Kudus, elephants, and elands, etc.
Day 10: Game drive & transfer to Diani Beach, about 4 hours
After breakfast, proceed with a sunrise game drive through Tsavo West NP. Later, continue to Diani Beach along the Kenyan coast, about 4 hours’ drive. Relax at the finest boutique hotel in Diani Beach, awaiting your adventures the following day.
Day 11: Diani Holiday
A full day is dedicated to you to experience what Diani Beach has to offer. A range of activities can be performed today, including swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, & more.
Day 12: Depart
After breakfast, expect to leave your boutique hotels in Diani to catch up with a flight. This wraps the 12 Days Kenya safari and Diani beach experience.
