The proximity advantage also means birding activities and forest walks can kick off right from the guest’s chalet. Buhoma lodge is super eco, with Chalets locally made of sourced, thatched roof and stones, so they give that natural feel. Both the  dining area and bar are elevated to provide open air views. The lodge also brings fireplaces to add warmth on cool nights.

Buhoma lodge offers some of the services that guests may not anticipate like loaning out gorilla trekking gear to its guests, at zero cost. The gear may include rain jackets, hiking poles, and drinking water. Laundry services at Buhoma lodge are also free, except only intimate items. Queen Elizabeth national park in western part of Uganda is not very far, and can also be visited for Big 5 game drives

ACCESSIBILITY.

Travelers into flights and those on busy schedules can fly from Entebbe International Airport into Kihihi airstrip. From the Airport, it’s now the lodge’s call to arrange transfers straight to the destination. Travelers can also take scenic road drives from Kampala and explore other tourism hubs especially in the western part of Uganda.

ROOM ANEMITIES AT BUHOMA LODGE.

Nine of the 10 chalets harboured at Buhoma lodge are standard, meant for two adults, with space for kids if needed. The Chalets are well placed alongside the hill part, simply to offer privacy and clear canopy views. The 10th chalet serves as honeymoon or family room.

Each room comes with wooden floors, large open windows and ceilings. Both comfortable king or twin beds wrapped in quality linens are provided, mostly under generous mosquito nets. Morning coffee can be enjoyed at a guest’s private terrace or sitting area while watching forest canopies.

Daily housekeeping services are offered at the lodge, often with warm drinking water. Guests often credit chalets at Buhoma as clean, comfortable, spacious, and organized. The  forest views make the whole environment feel special.

The spot is eco-friendly and uses solar lighting, along with local decor to create a warm feel without discomfort. Buhoma lodge also brings en-suite bathrooms, flushing toilets, hot showers, and free hanging bathtubs.

SERVICES AND FACILITIES.  Lunches and dinners at Buhoma lodge are hearty, and blend both international dishes with local flavours using raw fresh produce from the surrounding community. House drinks, and one complimentary massage per stay are also provided at the lodge.

Breakfasts at Buhoma bring local boiled eggs, fruits, and Ugandan local dishes like Katogo. Guests, depending on their choice, can choose to enjoy their meals either in the dining area, or on their private terraces overlooking the forest. The bar and main lounge are elevated to give the clearest canopy views. Fireplaces are always available for misty evenings and relaxation.

Local crafts and art pieces can also be grabbed from a simple gift shop just close to the lodge. WiFi comes at free cost, and mostly works in public areas. Buhoma lodge staff are exceptionally warm. They are super friendly, and genuinely caring. Buhoma staff remembers guests’ preferences, and also helps with trekking preparations.
