Lemala Wildwaters Lodge.

Lemala wildwaters lodge is a Private Island Escape on the mighty River Nile in Uganda. The spot stands as one of the most unique stays in Uganda safaris. Lemala sits on its own private island, right in the middle of the River Nile. The Lodge is surrounded by thick rainforests and water rapids offering the most breathtaking stay.

Just like its name, wildwaters, while at Lemela, the sound of water never stops, and you guests feel completely cut off from the mainland. The lodge mixes raw adventure alongside perfect luxury. Guests come for the thrill of the Nile but end up staying at the spot for spectacular views.

Lemala covers about six hectares on the Kalagala Island, amid the Victoria Nile, not far from Jinja town, Uganda’s tourism capital. The spot sits near Kalagala Falls, where the Nile creates constant white mist and water. The island can only be accessed by boat, the boat transfers guests from the mainland around Kangulumira, then takes a short ride to the lodge.

The last boat to the lodge normally leaves around 5:30 pm given the tricky and dark nature of the River. Once guests arrive, the island becomes their own world of water, rocks and forests, and the mainland feels far away.

The whole setting is exciting. The main lodge sits right on a solid rock peninsula, just above the water rapids. The rainforest covers much of the island, the lodge has elevated wooden walkways that connect the rooms, bar, and restaurants.
