Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Arusha & Travel to Serengeti
After a delicious breakfast, expect to be picked up from your hotel facility in Arusha. From the vibrant Arusha city, hit the road to Serengeti National Park, which sits in the Northern circuit. The Northern Tanzania circuit is the leading tourism region, often visited for Big 5 game viewing and Great Migration experiences. The drive time you should expect to cover today will be about 6 hours, and on arrival, expect to check into your luxurious accommodation facility. You may consider embarking on your first game drive session today, starting at around 3:00 pm and returning to the lodge at around 5:30pm.
Day 2: Explore the Central Serengeti National Park
Wake up early to enjoy a delicious breakfast, and later, you will start your morning & afternoon game drive combo. Traverse the savanna plains of Serengeti with the morning session, offering you a chance to witness the early sun risers while in their active mood.
As you explore the Serengeti’s central circuit, expect to have great encounters with predators, Big 5, resident game species, and diverse birds. The expected encounters can range from African bush elephants, leopards, lions, spotted hyenas, topis, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeests, cheetahs, and birds like grey-breasted spurfowl or Kori bustards.
Serengeti’s Central circuit –Seronera Valley is also popular for its huge concentrations of gazelles, zebras, and giraffes. After your magical interaction with your favorite wildlife, get back and have a relaxed evening with dinner.
Day 3: Game drive and Drive to Ngorongoro
After breakfast, leave the lodge for a game drive through the central circuit and later continue to Ngorongoro. From Serengeti to Ngorongoro takes about 3 to 4 hours, and en route, you may pay a visit to the Olduvai Gorge –the popular Cradle of Mankind, which takes at least 1 to 2 hours. At the museum, get to know more about the history of early man. You may also have a stopover at the Maasai Boma for thrilling cultural experiences, and leave when you have had deep insight into the pastoral life of the Maasai people. Proceed to Ngorongoro to enjoy a long evening of relaxation.
Day 4: Full day in the heart of Ngorongoro Crater
Today, your day comes with complete immersion into the plains of the Ngorongoro Crater. Get a chance to traverse the savanna plains and expect to explore unique species of animals, especially the black rhinos. In a 4×4 tourist car, expect to also find wildlife like leopards, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, gazelles, hyenas, and more. After the long day game drive, retreat and spend the rest of the evening at the lodge.
Day 5: Ngorongoro to Arusha –Departure at the airport
Being the last day of your trip, expect a leisurely breakfast before check out. Later, drive back to Arusha to be dropped at the airport or hotel, and today concludes the 5-Day Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari.
